Media Day, New Wrap and a Lot of Laps

Media Day, New Wrap and a Lot of Laps
Yesterday was media day and practice day at Wake County Speedway. It was a great chance to get back on the track and get the car dialed in before the next race. Thanks to Wake County Speedway for organizing media day and helping get photos and video of the drivers. It was cool seeing all the cars out there and getting some shots of the new look on our car. I also want to thank Brian and Angela Oldham from Bore Performance. They spent a lot of time this week getting the new design stickers applied to the car and making sure everything was ready for practice. The car looks awesome, and a lot of people at the track said they liked the new design. We ran about 140 laps, which is around 35 miles on the track. That gave us plenty of time to work on things. One of the main things I focused on was getting better coming out of Turn 4 and working on consistency. As the day went on the car felt better and better. At one point the car started sounding a little funny and slowed down, which got everyone's attention. For a minute we thought something might be wrong with the engine. After checking things out we realized the problem was a lot simpler... we had just run out of gas after all those laps. And thanks to Angela for bringing the food. The pizza was really good and definitely helped after a long day at the track. Overall it was a really good practice day. We learned a lot, made some improvements, and I'm excited about how the car is feeling. Now we're getting ready for Round 3 of the Bull Bash next weekend. See you at the track. - Jack
